The Climate Empowerment Project connects the many high school students, especially from local high schools, who appreciate our climate emergency and want to be part of the solution.

CAN supports and facilitates any student initiative aimed at raising climate awareness or increasing the sustainability or resiliency of the community.

We work closely with local high school ecological/environmental clubs (George Stevens Academy and Deer Isle Stonington) and collaborate with local environmental and community organizations, such as Maine Center For Coastal Fisheries, working for a healthy planet.

The project contributes to the development of a strong inter-generational voice with youth in the forefront for climate justice and science-based climate policy.
