Community Solar

CAN is pleased to announce our partnership with Ampion, whose mission is to make renewable energy accessible everywhere, for everyone.

Climate Action Net has a history of successful initiatives to encourage local schools and/or municipalities to convert to solar for the energy source of their electricity (Brooksville, Penobscot, Deer Isle and Stonington). However, our local response to the opportunity afforded by Maine’s Community Solar bill to convert individual residences to solar has been lacking. That is, until now!

If we’re going to succeed in the fight against climate change, then we’ll need to make renewable energy accessible everywhere, for everyone without any upfront cost. That’s the mission of Climate Action Net’s new partner, Ampion Renewable Energy.

Ampion helps connect people to subscriptions of clean energy from Community Solar projects in their area – so you can get access to clean solar energy without putting panels on your roof! Plus, with Community Solar, subscribers can feel good about making the grid greener, contributing to the growth of renewable energy projects in their state and saving 15% on their electric bills annually.

For a limited time, when you enroll in Community Solar, you’ll receive a $100 Visa gift card, and Ampion will make a $100 donation to CAN which will be used to sustain its Youth Project.

This is truly a win-win, and CAN wholeheartedly supports this initiative. We hope you will consider supporting our joint sustainability efforts with Ampion.
