On Saturday, June 4, 2022, a virtual conversation took place offering perspectives on “What Should We Teach the Young About Climate?”

Hope in a Time of Despair


CAN member Paul Kelly wrote a take-off on the Wizard of Oz, called Wicked Weather. It highlighted the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for action. Performed at the Blue Hill Heritage Memorial Celebration on August 21, 2022.

Performance Artists Point the Way


On February 19, 2022, Anne and Tony Ferrara and Rob Shetterly of Americans Who Tell the Truth gave a presentation in conjunction with the Brooklin Library . They urged the community to come together in support of climate action. 


CAN and the Blue Hill Public Library co-sponsored an inter-generational community conversation about climate change on March 20, 2021.


The DISHS 8th Grade Art Students  produced a number of paintings reflecting their thoughts and feelings about climate change and global concerns.


On Black Friday in 2019, CAN sponsored a rally to underscore the importance of changing our consumer culture to something more Earth and climate-friendly.


Reports on solar initiatives in Peninsula towns and energy savings from the emergence of community solar farms.


Greenhouse Project

In this video CAN Council member Tom Adamo shows how his greenhouse was constructed and talks about how he and others facilitated the construction of 100+ greenhouses in Hancock and Washington Counties.

Tony and Anne Ferrara discuss CAN’s commitment to climate literacy and inter-generational involvement on WERU.


CAN held a gathering of people concerned about the well-being of the Earth at Tinder Hearth in Brooksville.
